Let’s face it, Pinterest has been in the news for a couple months now, and it looks as though it is here to stay, for a while anyways. I say that’s a good thing. Pinterest is a melting pot of ideas and mini-brainstorms built off the concept of mood boards and those old tattered “project shoeboxes” you keep next to your bed or desk. There are many articles and blog posts that already let you know ways to browse around and tips on how to find and post amazing pins. We’re not going to cover that today, we do however recommend Mashable and LifeHack if you are just now emerging from your “under the rock vacation” and need a starting point for Pinterest. What we will cover is how you can use this amazing new tool for inspiration!
How to use it for inspiration?
Its so easy. Think of a word – type it in the search bar. You will be amazed at how quickly Pinterest has grown and the vast number of pins that are in their database! Your search may result in something that matches what you are thinking about – use that to bounce more ideas off of. Such as: How can I improve this? How can I make it different? How does this fit into our new idea? On the other side – it may show you something that never crossed your mind. Use the diversity and collections in Pinterest to your advantage.
How to Keep the inspiration flowing?
Follow. It’s the best way to find a daily/hourly refresh of ideas is to start following some people. Pinterest walks you through this when you signup, making the sharing process just that much easier. Here are a few great Pinners to follow:
